date : 10/1/2016
Mr. Noritake has up until now been serving as the Vice President of HGPI. He started his career with HGPI in 2007 following his graduation from Keio University. After entering HGPI, he took charge of numerous projects, including initiatives offering international support for patient advocacy groups, efforts focused on the control of non-communicable diseases, and disaster recovery work following the Great East Japan Earthquake and tsunami. He served for a time as a Director of HGPI before moving to the Netherlands in 2012 to earn a master’s degree in Medical Anthropology. He also has experience working as a consultant for the US-based Project HOPE, a medical care, health education and humanitarian assistance organization. Following his work with Project HOPE, Mr. Noritake returned to HGPI, serving as a Fellow and then Vice President while providing leadership on domestic and international policy projects, including efforts to address antimicrobial resistance (AMR) and medical IT and health technology. Mr. Noritake is a graduate of Keio University’s Faculty of Policy Management and holds an MSc in Medical Anthropology from the University of Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
The outgoing President, Mr. Kohei Onozaki, will continue to contribute to HGPI as a board member. He will continue to involve himself with HGPI’s efforts for health policy planning and human resource development.
In accordance with the above changes, Senior Manager Ms. Mariko Oyamada has been promoted the position of Vice President and has been placed in charge of Strategic Development, Planning, Human Affairs, Marketing and Women’s Health Projects.
Furthermore, as part of our efforts to expand our activities and grow as an organization, HGPI has also brought in new personnel, and the decision has been made to name Dr. Ryozo Nagai (President of Jichi Medical University), Dr. Shinsuke Muto (You Home Clinic President and Director), and Dr. Toshio Miyata (HGPI Executive Director) as new members of the HGPI Board of Directors.
HGPI will continue to work via its new personnel structure to develop and strengthen Japanese civil society. We sincerely appreciate your continued support.
